„Der Norweger Dag Jensen, seit 1988 Solofagottist des Kölner Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchesters, präsentiert sich in diesem Referenzprogramm sowohl technisch als auch tonlich-musikalisch als Bläser der Spitzenklasse.“
(Musikmarkt Stereoplay)

„By far the best reason to buy this disc is Jensen´s phenomenal tackling of Jolivet´s 14 minute monster. Composed in 1954, the concerto has had only a few players commit it to disc: Allard (twice), Popov, and Gallois have each had their crack at it. Jensen´s however, outshines them all. Not only are the Herculean technical challenges met with ease, but Dag proves himself a master interpreter of Jolivet´s unique musical idiom.
Phrases throughout the opening Recitativo alternate between soaring lyricism an manic virtuosity. The jazzy groove of the Allegro Gioviale never tires as he pushes toward its final summit on high f². In the calm of the Largo Cantabile, Jensen´s playing turns seductive thanks to his satiny high register. Once again, we are treated to many examples of his impeccable control of the softest pianissimi. The final Fugato moves back into the jazz club, after a stop in counterpoint class, and Jensen triumphs again.“
(The Double Reed)

„Dag Jensen, who makes an impressive case for his instrument in stylishly phrased and musical performances, particularly in the French compositions in which he pruduces a wide-ranging kaleidoscope of the bassoon´s qualities.“
